Six decades after its 1966 debut in Japan, the Toyota Corolla remains one of the most recognizable automobiles on the road. The 2027 Toyota Corolla celebrates the 60-year milestone with a limited-run model you can expect at the Heritage Toyota Harrisburg showroom in early 2027. Our dealers celebrate the legacy of this iconic sedan and preview the upcoming limited-edition model.

From 1966 to 2026

Toyota first introduced the Corolla to Japan in 1966. What started as a small, practical car eventually became a familiar sight on roads around the world, with successive generations adapting to changing expectations for efficiency, comfort, performance, safety, and technology.

This evolution is easy to see in the 2027 lineup. The modern gas-powered Toyota Corolla is equipped with a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine producing 169 horsepower and 151 lb-ft of torque. Hybrid versions come with a 1.8-liter four-cylinder engine with Toyota Hybrid System 5 for 138 combined net horsepower. These models achieve up to 50 miles per gallon combined.

Special 60th Anniversary Edition

The 60th Anniversary Special Edition starts with the Toyota Corolla Hybrid SE and adds details reserved for the commemorative mode. For example, the usual SE exterior emblems are replaced with anniversary badging and fit 18-inch machined, black-finished alloy wheels. Stunning Ice Cap and Supersonic Red are the two available paint choices, with Supersonic Red exclusive to this edition.

Moving inside the cabin, you’ll discover Black and Red Sport Fabric seat inserts along with:

  • 60th Anniversary door sills
  • 60th Anniversary floor mats
  • A standard 10.5-inch Toyota Audio Multimedia® touchscreen
