A lot has changed in the last 10 years and yet, in some ways, it’s like no time has passed at all. Even with all of the upgrades this model has received over the past decade, the 2013 Toyota Sequoia and the newest model are both excellent SUVs. We’re highlighting each full-size SUV at Heritage Toyota Harrisburg to see what’s changed over the years.
2013 Toyota Sequoia
The 2013 Toyota Sequoia is part of the full-size SUV’s second generation, which was released in 2008. Beginning in 2013, it scrapped the SUV’s standard engine and only offered its more powerful option: a 5.7-liter V8 engine. It delivers up to 381 horsepower and 401 lb-ft of torque and gives the three-row SUV a notable 7,400-lb towing capacity.
Mid-Generation Refreshes
In 2018, the SUV expanded its trim levels. It got an exterior revamp with standard LED headlights, daytime running lights, and fog lights, as well as specific grille designs for each trim. Plus, it added new safety features such as automatic emergency braking and adaptive cruise control.
In 2020, it added new driver-assist features and smartphone integration, as well as introduced the TRD Pro trim.
2023 Toyota Sequoia
The third generation of the Toyota Sequoia was first introduced in January 2022 and was released as a 2023 model. It is now offered as a hybrid SUV.
The 2023 Toyota Sequoia uses a 3.4-liter twin-turbo V6 engine and electric motor to produce up to 437 horsepower. It also boasts a whopping 9,000-lb towing capacity too.
