If you’re a fan of the Toyota Corolla hatchback, you’ll love the new turbocharged Toyota GR Corolla—a passion project born of the automaker’s performance Gazoo Racing division.
This fantastic little car is an all-new concept for the 2023 model year. Here’s the latest on what we know from Heritage Toyota Harrisburg.
Trim Levels
This new hatchback is offered in three trim levels for its inaugural year: the Core, the Circuit, and the top-level Morizo Edition, which will be a limited run of only 200 models. While pricing hasn’t yet been released, we know enough to be intrigued about this hot hatchback.
Engine and Performance
Core and Circuit models are equipped with a turbocharged 1.6-liter three-cylinder engine that’s been tuned up to knock out an impressive 300 horsepower. The only transmission available is a six-speed manual, and each model features all-wheel drive.
The powerhouse Morizo Edition features the same engine re-tuned to produce 295 lb-ft of torque, compared to the standard model’s 273 lb-ft. This trim level features several sporty alterations, including losing the rear seat to reduce weight and extra-sticky Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2rubber tires.
