You probably give your house a nice, deep clean in the Spring. But did you know that Spring is also a great time to service your car? Here are a few things you can do on your own, plus some tasks that you should leave to your local Toyota Service professionals.

What can I do by myself to prepare my car for the Spring?

Here in Pennsylvania, we always look forward to the end of Winter and beginning of Spring. As the snow melts and the temperature climbs, show your car a little love by preparing it for the new season:

  • Give your car a nice wash and wax. Remove the salt and grime you accumulated over the winter and protect your exterior from the blaring sun with a wax.
  • Shampoo and vacuum the interior to remove leaves, salt, and anything else you might’ve deposited in the car during the cold months.
  • Replace your wiper blades. Ice and snow can do a number on these!
  • Check your tire treads and pressure. The treads should be at least 4/32” deep, and the pressure should be somewhere between 32 and 35 psi.

After you’ve knocked out this list, schedule an appointment with Heritage Toyota Service so the pros can conduct a more specialized inspection.

What Spring car service should I leave to the professionals?

Professional mechanics can give your vehicle a full tune up to make sure you’re ready to go for the Spring. They’ll top up your car’s fluids, check the air filters, and make sure that your battery is running well. If needed, they can adjust your alignment or suspension—sometimes those get out of whack driving in a lot of snow or hitting a nasty Winter pothole.

Heritage Toyota Harrisburg is here to help you get your car ready for the warmer, sunnier weather. Contact us today or swing by our dealership to learn about our service specials!
