What can we expect from the 2021 Toyota Highlander? There has been a lot of discussions and rumors pertaining to the three-row family SUV. Now that it’s out and available at Heritage Toyota Harrisburg, let’s take an in-depth look.

Introducing the XSE Trim

One of the bigger revelations is the introduction of an XSE trim. This is somewhat unconventional. The XSE has a sportier tuning with a more aggressive exterior design. It’s not exactly what one would expect from a family SUV, which makes it all the more newsworthy.

The XSE retains the same 3.5-liter V6 engine under the hood from previous model years. It’s also mated to the same eight-speed transmission with front-wheel drive as standard and an optional upgrade to all-wheel drive.

The changes include more angled headlights, a chrome dual exhaust, and larger air intakes positioned lower to the floor. To add to the edgier outlook, there are more black accents, including black window moldings and mirror caps.

Essentially, the XSE trim retains all the functions a family would want while also appealing to those who would feel more at home behind the wheel of a sports car.

Customization Options

Select from a number of features to add to the function and look of your vehicle. Available add-ons for the 2021 model include 20-inch alloy wheels, a hands-free power liftgate, lower side skirts, and a mesh front grille.

In the cabin, you can upgrade the infotainment system to a 12.3-inch touchscreen display. Qi-compatible wireless charging is also available, as is a panoramic moonroof.
